IDEA – Giant Mural. Very long parking garage on the railroad track and Federal Highway between Flagler Bridge/AIA and 3rd Street. Recent examples of giant murals included.
See the blog post about Jorge Pardo’s mural south of Okeechoobee.

Love this idea. Please be sure to include the western facade which looms over the Northwest neighborhood. This garage is oppressive and disrespectful to this neighborhood and this could help if done right.
We need a green facade or green trellis included with the new convention center garage. It needs to NOW because it is moving forward in April.

Reblogged from IBI group Art in Public Places master plan. This is a wonderful idea.
The new convention center parking garage also needs to have a “green facade” treatment, and we don’t have much time because the County intends to move forward in April.
This is not a county owned garage. The garage on the south side of 3rd Street, with the walkover to the Courthouse, is the county owned garage. This building is privately owned.

Fantastic idea! Maybe private owners would be willing to participate?
